Default turn a 16t into an 18T

I have a pretty worn out 16T with an angled flange exhaust. I'm not that well versed on turbos. Is it possible to purchase a 18T cartridge off ebay for a Volvo and transfer over the intake and exhaust housings to mount it back onto my 850 ??

Has anyone used a coating on the intake or exhaust side of their turbo instead of using wrap and would have a recommendation of someones product ??

Default Man this is an old post

exhaust housing will bolt up but you will need a new compressor housing and 18T center section. You can get one off of ebay for around $430. take the center clamp loose split the turbo in half (center section will stay attached to the compressor housing) insert new center section and 18T compressor into your old exhaust and presto you now have an 18T turbo. It really is that easy!!

couldn't you just machine out the compressor housing to suit the 18T cartridge?

you could but why!! From a cost perspective it would be cheaper just to buy the 18T compressor side and use your exhisting exhaust side. Machining your current compressor would not be cost effective unless you can do the machine work your self.
