Default TD04HL-18T or TD04HL-19T (which would you get?)

I have been looking for a TD04HL-18T but have stumbled across a 19T. Now I am confused. Should I?

Have you seen this http://forums.turbobricks.com/archiv...p/t-10961.html seems like good info.

How do you like the flow master exhaust? Went on their website and couldn't find a Volvo specific system, did you use the universal? what about the down pipe?

The exhaust sounds pretty good. I added a glass pack from Summit racing at the tail pipe too just to keep the sound down. I didnt want the wife complaining. It is tame though. I may get a second pack and replace the flowmaster just to see what sound diff it makes. I am still running the factory downpipe. When I get my final turbo I will get a downpipe to match. I may end up with the OBX system so I have not put to much into the exhaust since I might have to change it all. I am in Calif so I have to have a Cat in place. I did use the uinversal. If you look at the Forum photo gallery I have a segment that has a photo of it.

18T is a safer turbo. From what I've seen, people go with the 18T with stock internals. Doesn't build boost as fast as the 19T, therefore, less chance of bending a rod. The 19T at times has erratic boost spikes at low rpms, that's how it became known as the rod bender. 18T can boost around 18-22 psi, and the 19T I think can go above 25 psi, of course that's with supporting mods for both turbos. Each I would get a wideband, for the 19T you should get an EBC. Both would need larger injectors, and a custom tune, since you already have IPD, a remap.

If you are running stock rods, I would not get the 19T. To many people seem to bend there rods with this thing, which is why IPD sells there stage 3 kit with the 18T.

Turns out the 19T I had my eye on is a 16T that has been machined to fit a 19T wheel. I dont feel comfortable with that setup.

Its just the price, there has got to be a better price than $900+ for an 18T.

Just have to search for a used one or a V70R being parted out.

I have been doing that. We have a Volvo wrecker here in town. They let me go look through the turbos, thats where I found the 16T. It was like a candy store...hundreds of turbos but no 18Ts
