Yellow flash arrow, Tried the shifter select trick, did not work. 4 quart fluid change done, No first gear, how to fix this?

 

My 1995 850 was doing the same thing, I dropped the engine pan and replaced the s2 solenoid did the job on the ground took me about 9 hours, if your a decent mechanic you can save yourself a large chunk of change, got the s2 solenoid from fp groton, don't recall the price, it was a dirty job but since I love working on them it was a triumph for me. If you do it don't forget to change and flush the tranny fluid. Good Luck. By the way I have the dice software in 3 of my computers...so the info on how to repair the car was a must.
