my niegbour has a 2004 ford ranger and the boot that covers the joint from the steering rood to the power sterring pump ripped.
he whent to the dealer and they said it would cost 800 to replace because they would pull the sterring colom out so he asked me to do it and i just want to know is there any way to replace that boot withought pulling the steering colomn ?

There may be a split boot offered. They sell 'em for CV joints. Worth looking into anyway.
