Long story short was helping a friend work on his Mom's 2000 VW Jetta 2.0.

We had to replace the Dist.

After all that was fixed we lost the signal from the ignition switch to the starter. I have tried looking at work on All Data for info and a good wiring diagram no good luck there.

I was finally able to locate that it had 2 relays which I hear clicking when I try to start it. But I don't get power to the trigger wire.

Anyone have a good wiring diagram or info that might help.

I need to find a decent diagram so I can trace from the relay box out to the starter to figure out where the problem is.

It has finally happened. Tech has asked for help. I can feel my world crashing down around me.

 

I know sometimes everyone needs a little help. LOL
If I could find the proper info(wiring diagram) I would already have it fixed.

 

just take a jumper and put it right on the starter and run it back through the compartment to the battery and when you need to start it pop the hood and do it manually lol

 

We have it like that now but his Mom is like 75 years old and cannot do that every time she needs to drive.
