May not be used for a comparison but approx. $5.40/gallon for regular, close to $6.00/gallon for premium in Japan.

$3.45 for 92 at MarathoninMichigan near the Ohio border today.

Around the corner from the housetoday Shell is selling 89 for$3.46 and 92 for $3.60.

The only thing the oil companies aren't using is a gun.... but they may as well be for the prices they're charging, lol!

$3.25 for Regular I paid just recently. I have stopped using Premium because of the cost. Even though the difference is only a few dollars. It is a few dollars I can still hold onto right now.

Can you send me some of your low priced fuel, please?

In the Durham area of the UK it ranges from US$9.41 to US$9.85 a gallonand is predicted to go higher.

Good grief, how can anyone afford to drive at nearly $10./gal.????

And here I was cringing yesterday when I bought diesel for my tractor at $4.19/Gal and topped off my wife'sXC90 with premium (92 octane) for $3.50/Gal.

Reading your post, all of a suddenI feel like Ishould count my blessings. Incidentally this wasnear Brighton, Michigan and about 60 miles west of Detroit.

Whew.... this is getting nutso on a global level....

Thank you for your concern for us over here.

However, as predicted, prices are creeping up again. Today I saw two filling stations, in what the owners call "outlying areas", charging US$ 10.73 and US$ 10.38 per gallon. The "outlying areas" are both within 5 miles of other stations which are selling at US$ 9.81 and within 30 miles of the distribution centre so they do not incur extra delivery charges.

I think that this is profiteering on a major scale but the worst profiteeris our government as the majority of the price is tax which is thensubject toValue Added Tax, which is similar to your sales tax.I think every UK politician must have large numbers of shares in oil companies.

Based on Tuesday's meeting of the top five oil with Congress in Washington, don't expect gas to go back down below $3. gal, and if anything, it will keep going up. They as much as alluded to it with their "don't blame us" comment and talk about need to keep prices high to take care of cycles in the business (yeah right!) and investment in new fuel alternatives (yeah sure).

hi,, im from europe and many people say oh gas in europe is 8-9 dollars a gallon, in reality its not more expensive than here, problem in america is that we drive 5-10 times more than people in europe do. i Live in Detroit metro, and closest grocery store is 10 miles away, my school is like 25 miles round trip. when i lived in europe, in Montenegro to be specific, all the major shoping centers were within 2-3 miles away, my school was within walking distance, and many people untill they are in their late 20's dont drive cars to much, because public transportation is availible, and is much cheaper than driving their car.

$3.35 last night for 87 octane. $50.00 to fill up and it wasn't even empty. If the housing market didn't suck so bad, I would consider selling the house and moving in closer. I commute 30 miles one way. I make it in a little over 1/2 hour though, so it's a decent commute.

shadowlord, your sums don't add up. It is a fact of life that fuel in Europe is about 3 times the price of that in the US. The amount of driving does not enter the equation. If the fuel in the UK was even half its current price then I would certainly drive 5 - 10 times more than I do. Unfortunately I, and many others, simply cannot afford to do this.

Where I live our nearest shopping centres are about 5 miles away but using public transport means taking two, or in one case three, 'buses at a minimum cost of $US8.70 each. For a family this is not an economical alternative to the car.

Referring to the late starting age of drivers - that may apply in Montenegro but it does not apply to all of Europe. In the UK the minimum age for driving is 17 years and most, if not all, UK 17 year olds have their first licence and first drivinglesson booked readyto start driving on their birthday.

I would add that I do not begrudge US drivers their cheaper fuel but I will admit to immense envy.

Well if you convert litres to american gallon and Canadian dollar to US the fuel in Durham Ontario Canada is about 4.35/ Gallon. I'd say you all have it better than we do.
