Default NEW Rear Cam Seal had a hole in it....

Just venting here....
So last sunday I decided to pull my head to do the valve seals instead of doing it on the car with that tool...

While I had it out I decided to Blueprint, port and polish the head and lap the valves. I installed the N/A cams I had sitting in the garage for 2 years.
Got everything back together today cause I finally had a break in the rain..

She started right up, but in 30 sec I noticed I was leaking oil from under the Cam Position Sensor, I pulled it and oil was dripping out.

The seal looked fine, but I saw a small hole in it. poked a pick in there and popped it out.. It looked like someone drilled into it.. WTF?????

Sure as **** it was leaking from that hole...

Just picked one up at napa for $4 gunna put it in tomorrow...

After all that im glad that was the only thing screwed up .... SO FAR atleast.

Man, that's nuts. I replaced all 4 cam seals on out S70 about 7 months ago. Not to bad, however, I read a lot of warnings about aftermarket seals not lasting very long. My guess is that the seals I had to replace were only 2 years old (about 23,000 miles). I had to order mine from the dealer in NC because my local stealer wanted twice as much for them ($25 per seal). Glad you caught that while you were in the grove and not 400 miles from home.

That is a real shame. I have heard good and bad about the aftermarket seals. I personally would only use elring seals.

I should have bought the kit from you guys, but I got it from world pac locally... I Know better for the motor build...

You guys need to sell the rings for the turbo, Mike said that you only have the rings for the N/A.
