My s40 is a 2005, no turbo, FWD. There was a water leak on the driver side rear door seal. My service location fixed it for a while, but now it's happening again. They claim they can't find the problem, but the floor mat is wet constantly and my car smells moldy-ish. The window doesn't look like it's up all the way, but won't go up any further.

Also I have a small rust spot on the same door, which I find to be ridiculous. Anybody have the same issues??

 

Do you notice any wind noise at speed? Do you know if the door had been hit/repaired in its earlier life? I've read about people with leaky cars and wet floor mats, but I believe that resulted from clogged drains in the sunroof system. Do you have a sunroof?

Personally, I haven't had any problems with H20 leakage, but I live in the desert where we seldom get rain. But my car makes no noticeable wind noise either.

Did your dealer actually replace the door seal? I'd have another dealer check it out for you ... or even a reputable body shop to determine whether or not the door has been damaged and poorly repaired.
