Afternoon all, I hope everyone is well, my apologies in advance for the ammount of questions but despite having had numerous boats I've never had one with a Volvo penta engine and leg. The engine is a aq130 (not sure which version) and have been told it's a 270 leg.
so the first question of many is how do I establish which variant of the aq130 I have? The reason being is to order spares such as water pump impeller and does it have an anode (I believe the 130b did).
the second and most immediate question is about the lower tilt on the leg. It looks complete apart from the switch which was slung in a box. So if I wanted to test it does anyone know which pin is what on the wire? There is also a dial that says about trim but I think the 270 only had power tilt not trim tilt? Tia for any advice. Plug to tilt motor Power tilt mech Is this gauge surplus?
Hi there,
I have an old workshop manual for the 280 which has a wiring diagram in it, see the attached picture. I'm using a 280 (on a AQ131A engine), but I
have a spare 270 lying around and although there are a few small differences, to me it looks like the tilting device is the same.
