Default Tamd71a

Princess 415 1988 with Tamd71a engines happened in 2020 in the engine compartment, where the turbo pipe from the second engine broke and water got into the engine compartment. There was enough water in the engine compartment that the starter motors probably got wet, but we got things fixed that summer 2020.

While doing winter maintenance, we removed the second starter motor and I cleaned the connectors and tested that it works. Now, however, both engines won't start. There is only a clicking sound from the second machine, but the start in the second engine is as if it is going overboard.

The boat hasn't been in the water since 2020 and now I was thinking of testing the engines again for good condition and assumed that when I took the starter off and checked and cleaned the connectors and tested it on the table, the starter motor worked really well. But when we install the starter motor back into the engine, it doesn't start, it just clicks and I don't think the clicking is even coming from the starter motor, but from the other side of the engine.

Where would I start to find fault?

Best regards

There is relays placed under Glycol exp box. Replace them, be sure to replace them with equals.

Its a common problem.
