Hello all,

I'm looking to replace the throttle shaft bushings on my throttle body injection unit, Has anyone done this?

Why have you decided the TBI unit needs new bushings? It's got to be pretty old and I could see the only thing they sell is a complete unit.

Given that it's a boat I am not sure you need to worry too much about unfiltered air getting into the engine via loose bushings in the TBI unit.

TBI is not really an exacting fuel injection system compared to real fuel injectors so I think a little slop in the busing is fine.

I had TBI on a 1993 Suburban SUV and when I looked at it running with the air filter off I said "wow that is not much of a upgrade from having a carburetor" and wondered why they did not wait for real fuel injectors?

Thanks D,

The main reason for wanting to do the bushings is the idle issue, the butterflies are hanging up and it wont idle down.
