Default Volvo Penta D2-60, hot water tank connections

Hello,
I am in the process of removing the hot water tank from my boat and I am wondering what to do with the coolant connections that are going to/from the tank (see attached picture)
should these taps plugged since not in use or should I keep a hose connected between the two taps to allow circulation ?
thanks alot for your feedbacks!

I think it's best to connect the two ends together to allow for circulation.
