1996 850 GLT manual wagon project car
The short version: The vehicle is in otherwise sound condition, well cared for with 175k miles, but had a catastrophic coolant loss and engine overheating on a road trip this past weekend. Candidate for an engine swap, but I don't have the time or space. If you want to recover the vehicle from Cherry Hill NJ and spare it from the junkyard, I will sign the title over to you and mail you records from day one. Call me at 571-331-1478. Jon
I bought the car in 2006 from the original owner with 77k miles. It was a special order in 2006. Pewter exterior, black leather interior, GLT trim and luxury options, but with a the 5-speed manual transmission and naturally aspirated 2.4 liter engine. I absolutely loved it. I definitely used it, and put another 100k miles on it over the last seven years, but maintained it with the intention of going 200k miles or more. As recently as last week I was rotating the tires and conditioning the seats. I need to replace it immediately with a reliable vehicle, but would love to see another Volvo geek resurrect this unusual wagon. All I would ask for is a photo or two every now or then.
