93 - 850 Project Car
I bought a 93 850 for $350, I knew the timing belt was snapped so I knew going in it was going to need some work. I finally got my 94 850 to be an acceptable DDriver ( still 2 minor issues end link and muffler has a hole) so now I address this one!
Last night my son and I pulled the head, pretty time consuming job. But it is out!!!I was kind of shocked to see just Bent valves - a lot of them, but - none were broken. I am going to attempt to remove all the valves to see if the guides are broken if they are...or are not what do you guys do most frequently? Buy a different head and put it in place or rebuild? I guess I could do either but want to save as much cash as possible in that this car has other 'issues' that will call for $ to be thrown at it to resolve.
Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving

What is the difference between the 93 850 Head and the 94 850 Head? I was just looking at the valves since almost all of mine are bent, then I figured I'd look up the cost of a new head...and the 94 is $895 and the 93 is $2,311 can anyone provide me some explanation as to why the 93 head is so much more expensive?

JPN...man you see how expensive they are...to do 20 valves, guides, and seals would cost almost $500 plus shipping...dude I can buy a whole used car for that money...
No I did not recognise the valve job would be so expensive...
.
But then you can fix it up, find another junked 850, then restore it and find another...wait a minute, this sounds familiar...
.
I guess a junked 93 850 would be the best alternative
