I just bought a 2001 S6 2.4T, with 105k on it, drives nice, but I do hear some sort of thumbing sound when I go over small imperfections in the road. Sometimes the sound is followed by a small rattle. Any ideas on what it could be?

 

It is either a broken strut cap or a bad sway bar link.
