(Turbos are non interference as well)...
If you get 0 compression, the pistons are not moving! There is no other explanation--no way you can have ALL cylinders equally damaged (bad valves, pistons with holes, belt missing or badly off, etc), to show no compression at all! You are missing something major somewhere...

afaik, only the 16V B234F's are interference in the USA... the E/ET engines in .EU are higher compression and might be interference.

Sounds hard to believe that the pistons are not moving . The only causes would be the starter motor and ring gear are broken or worse case the crank shaft is broken or flex plate studs are broken. I would pull the plugs , turn the crank by hand at the front bolt and see what turns.

How possible is it the timing kicked 180 degrees out? The timing belt never broke. All marks align as they should.

If the timing belt is in place, and the engine turns over when you crank it, then its impossible to have 0 PSI compression in all 4 cylinders. even with a severely blown head gasket, you'd have /some/ compression during cranking in some cylinders unless all 4 pistons were mechanically broken, and in that case it wouldn't turn over without making all kinda funky crunching sounds

know anyone with a borescope camera? inspect the piston crowns,

Right? That didn’t make any sense to me either. Maybe the gauge is broken?

I’ve triple checked the timing and even replaced the belt while I had everything off.

I had a Subaru that sheared the flex plate from the engine. The starter engaged, made a turning, whirling noise, but nothing else turned past the flex plate--sound might have been mistaken for engine turning. The "tech" who had worked on it before had over or under torqued the bolts and they sheared off... Never seen that before... engine had to come out.

Did you put a socket on the front crank shaft bolt and turn the engine over by hand. Take the plugs out and check to see if a piston comes up.

you said you replaced the plug wires, are you sure they got back in the right positions on the distr. cap? worth checking that too.
