15" Turbo rims
Today I got a killer deal ($20 ea.) on two 15" turbo rims, in good condition but each has a little curb rash. Does anyone have any tecniques on repairing this curb rash before I paint/clearcoat them? Before I jump in head first with a fine file, emery cloth or steel wool I could use some tips.
Thanks, S. Brown

RE: 15" Turbo rims
If you have a dial gauge you could assure that they are not bent. Usually .050" is the max they should be out of true. (up and down, and side to side).
A wheel refinishing service will get them better than that...the one I used gets them within .015"...but at $100 per wheel that would ruin your bargain.
As long as the wheels are relatively true, just file, sand and paint...then balance them. I used Eastwood Wheel Paint and Diamond Gloss clear-coat on mine...and they turned out "factory"!
