1969 Marcos sports car with a 6 cyl inline volvo engine must see
Wanted to share this sports car because it has a Volvo 6cyl engine with 3 carbs on it...
I had never heard of this car before and obviously my interest was the fact that they chose a Volvo engine....
see it here on ebay enjoy

hah, the old B30 inline 6 pushrod engine... volvo used those in the 164 (predecessor of the 260 family), as well as the C303 all terrain vehicle.
did some digging. Marcos was a british company, in and out of bankruptcy. that 69 must have been one of the last GT Fastbacks they made. the Volvo B30 was used on the american import version, along with an automatic transmission, in UK/EU they had various Ford engines. The B30 with the triple webers is 140HP. earlier versions of the GT had a plywood frame.
$41000 and reserve not met. good luck.

When I first started in the Auto Business we had a New 1966 Red Marcos GT on the Showroom Floor at Pierre's Motors in Portland, in 1967. Seems like it had a window sticker of nearly $3900, which was a couple hundred more than a new Healey 3000 mk III. Don't remember it ever selling. Not sure what became of it.. At that time Marv Tonkin Ford just up the road had a new Olive Green 1966 Shelby Cobra on there Showroom for $6400; that they couldn't sell either. If one only knew....

That 3 liter Volvo was robust but a gas hog and not very powerful, so not very desirable, carbureted or fuel injected (after '71). The 164 was a great car but never caught on in the US and is to this day unloved, less popular than the 140. The Marcos is "quaint" as they say, never seen one myself.
