Runs fine when I get it going, but when i stop it and leave it for some time it won’t start again unless I give it some start gas or put petrol in the injtector-holes.
The pumps also makes sounds when I drive it after I get it going again.
Has new in tank pump, and new fuel pump.
Spark is fine, Ignition timing is correct.
I’m wondering if it’s the accumulator, but I can’t see fuel running out the back when I pull off the vacuum hose.
The car does not seem to hold pressure though when turned off. As the pumps always run when turning the ignition on and off when trying ti start when hot.
I’m also wondering if it light be fitted with the wrong accumulator, as VP-autoparts accumulator ends with 001 or 004, and mine ends with 007.

There should be "rest" pressure in the system after sitting. That pressure is held by the new check valve shown on your fuel pump in the photo - and the fuel distributor on the other end. If you have no rest pressure - you either have an external leak somewhere (that's an interesting fuel line from the pump to the accumulator!) or either the new check valve or old fuel distributor is leaking that pressure.
It is possible that fuel pressure is leaking from the cold start injector also -
Are those little bits of hose-clamped on fuel line near the pump rated to at least 100 psi? (most generic braided fuel line like that is not, it's designed for low pressure applications)

Thanks for replying. (I know, the plumbing looks like it’s done by a plumber, and not a mechanic😂. What do you mean by the check valve? The accumulator?
wil definitely check out if the cold start leaks. Usuaally never a problem starting the car when cold though.

One way check valve is the steel part on the end of the fuel pump. If the cold start injector leaks it could bleed off the rest pressure - making it hard to start the car when warm.

Thanks Hoonl. I found that I didn’t install the check valve on the new pump. Installing it today and crossing fingers.
? doesn't a new check valve comes with a new pump?
Hi, yes it does. But I misread the signs of a broken pump and got a Bosch 044 pump, which had a check valve that didn't suit the fittings for my hoses. So in an unexperienced reassemble I didn't put it back in correctly. Put in the old pump now, and it's working like a champ. Thanks!
