Default 1984 240gl Injector/Starting Issues

Hello all,
I purchased a 84 244 a few months back. Up until recently, it has been not much more than a lawn ornament. After months of sitting the car did not want to start. It cranked but never caught. Made sure it was getting fuel and spark, and still nothing. After inspecting the wiring harness, I discovered lots of bare wires. This weekend I purchased and replaced it and the car still didn't want to start. I put it in limp mode by unplugging the AMM (air mass meter) while the battery was unplugged. After this the car started right up, took it for a quick test drive and seemed solid. The next day I drove the car about 30 miles and pulled into a gas station. After filling the tank I tried to start the car, but the battery was dead. Towed it home and the car no longer wants to starts even with a well charged battery. I believe it lost power due to a bad ground on the alternator (which I cleaned and regrounded). It is getting spark to all 4 plugs and adequate fuel/fuel pressure. There's 12 volts at the injector connections. They are the original injectors, never cleaned, with 186k. I inspected the ECU for and damage but it look fine. I can't think of any other reason why the car wouldn't start other than bad injectors, but it seems very coincidental. Only thing I could think of is that since the battery died when the AMM was unplugged the ECU is messed up? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thats way too run together, and seems to be several different problems.

"This weekend I purchased and replaced it" what is 'it' ?

if the car runs with the AMM unplugged but doesn't run when its plugged in, your AMM is bad, or the wiring harness to it is bad.

if the battery was dead, your alternator likely wasn't charging it. completely unrelated to all that other stuff.

by 'adequate fuel pressure', do you mean 36-38 PSI above manifold vacuum as measured by a fuel pressure gauge?
