Default 1984 Volvo 245 stuttering when turning and accelerating

For the little while I've had this Volvo it has been stuttering and almost stalling upon acceleration when turning and accelerating at the same time. If you baby it, it usually doesn't do it, but if you push it at all, especially when going up hill, it does it quite often. I've yet to have it completely stall yet, I usually shift it into neutral and let it sit for about 3 seconds and shift it back into drive and baby it along. It drives down the highway great and idles just fine. It idles at about 1100 RPM if that is a factor. I don't no where to start with this embarrassing and potentially dangerous problem.

thanks!

is it worse when the fuel is low? if so, I'd wonder about the transfer pump (there are two fuel pumps, one in the tank, one under the car)

otherwise, I'm guessing a funky electrical connection somewhere.

unless.... is this car a K-Jet CIS injection system rather than a LH EFI injection system? could be some kind of KJet specific problem I'm not familiar with.

you have a really high idle, 600-700 is more typical

OK, just filled up the tank and it still does it. Where should I start looking for an electrical problem?

loose connectors or cracked insulation under the hood would be the first thing I'd look for. also, inspect the wiring to the fuel pumps, especially the one under the car.

which fuel injection system does this car have? K-Jet or LH-II ? (LH has wires to each fuel injector, while K-Jet has a fuel distributor between the throttle body and intake manifold) I'm not nearly as familiar with the early 80s Volvos as I am with the late 80s/early 90s.
