1988 240 DL Sedan instrument panel weirdness
Hey all, a couple days ago I acquired an 88 240 dl. For sitting for 20+ years, it's had very few issues. Started right up after a jump, and after a new battery, oil, fuses, and tires, it's running pretty smooth. Still need new engine and trans mounts and likely a new fuel filter, but I have some worries about my instrument panel. When I bought it the fuel and temp gages seemed to work, as well as the speedo. However, along the ~1˝hr drive home from the seller, my fuel gague has stopped working entirely, the speedo works sporadically (about 50/50 per time I'm driving), and the temp only occasionally reads anything. My panel light works when my speedometer does, and no matter what my clock resets itself to a seemingly random time on start-up. The wiper/horn fuse also always blows on startup, but I'm fairly sure that has to do with my wiper motor or trans being screwed up. This is the first car I've owned nearly this old, and I figured I should ask if anyone has any suggestions before I go poking around ancient electricals for gremlins.
