1988 240 DL Wagon w/ 40k miles
Newbie here. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
I have a line on a 1988 240 DL Wagon w/ 40k original miles. Auto trans. It's been sitting since 2011, outside.
Covered in Lichen (live in PNW), but appears to be in immaculate shape underneath all the grime.
Doesn't appear to be any major rust, or any rust.
I'm guessing since it's been sitting since 2011, the gas is bad and I probably shouldn't even try to start it?
I know there are common odometer issues, so I'm not 100% sure the mileage is accurate, but I have reason to believe it is.
I can probably get it for $500 - $1000.
Thoughts? Advice?

I'd be particularly careful with the brake calibers, sitting that long, there's a good chance there's corrosion in the slave cylinders. even if you flush the brake fluid, and the brakes 'seem' fine, they could fail just a few dozen or 100 miles down the road when the corrosion shreads the piston seals.
