1988 740 Turbo Intercooled QUESTIONS
I just bought a 1988 Volvo 740 Turbo, non wagon. I have a few questions being a neewbie on here. It currently has 120K on it. This is going to be my daliy commuter car. It has brand new tires and new battery and also new starter, I just want to know what else of maintenance to perform to make this last. I am going to do plus, wires, fuel filter and air filter. What other things should I do or keep an eye out for. I am just looking to make this car start up and get me from point A to B every day. Also how do these handle in teh snow??? I hope good.
Thanks for all responses in advance.

The car should drive great in the snow.If you are giving it a tune up you should have most of it covered. You should have a speed sensor that goes into the top of the transmission bye the block.Check the out side sheilding for cracks if there are any replace the sensor. That should be about it.
So far so good, I actually replaced the altenator this week and it seems to be fine. The only problem I have is when I rev the gas it is fine but when the RPMS come down it seems to almost stall in a way. But then the iidle goes back to normal. Just wondering what could cause this.
