1988 740 Turbo Volvo AC
My 740 Volvo AC was retrofitted with RA134a. coolant. It needed a charge so I went and got the right stuff and followed the directions. It worked well for a day or so then I discoverdI put to much in, I realesed some to the right pressure but now the air doesn't get cooled. Anyone know what I need to do??
It is quite possible that you had the correct amount of freon in the system. Typically durring the summer months, especially in high temperatures, system pressures get much higher then in other months.
What was the high side guage readout when you thought it was to high? and how hot was the engine/outside temp? Was the compressor making any unusual sounds? also do you remember what your low side was at? I would check it again and do it when the engine is cold or warming up. try and do it when the ambiant temp outside is between 75-85. Also run it on full a/c up high. let it run on high for a min or so to get a more accurate reading. Did you do the retrofit? Do you know what was changed? have you tested for leaks? how does the condeser look?amy girt buildup on any of the connection points?? What kind of guages are you using to get your reading????
