1989 240 Leather seat covers
I need to replace the leather on the bottom of the drivers seat. I have the springs and hog rings off. However, the clips that hold the seat tight from front to back (located on back of seat) are difficult to get off. I do not want to damage the replacement cover in removing these clips. Does anyone have advice on the best way to remove these clips? See atatched pix. I am also looking for advice in how to remove/install the back leather seat cover too.

the black clips are pretty hard to remove. i just know on my vinyl ones i'd separate the top and bottom cushions by removing the bolts (6 i think) that connect them to the gray hinge. then i'd carefully use a flat head to pry up a little on the black clips. since the clips have jagged teeth going into the material you have to pull on the leather to give slack to "unhook" them from the jagged teeth.
you have to be VERY careful about the screwdriver damaging the material...if you give enough slack to the leather you should be able to pull the black clip off too i think...
