Default 1989 volvo 240 tie rod ends

i'm looking into purchasing a 1989 volvo 240 with 100k miles. the current owner has stated that the tie rod ends need to be replaced (the car wobbles at slow speeds.) i have owned an '87 240 wagon previously. how much work is involved in replacing the tie rods. is it something a novice mechanic can do. and what is the typical cost of parts for that?

They are not hard to replace but you need to get it aligned as soon as you get it doe.If not you will burn the tires off the car in no time.
