Just purchased 240 DL for wife,abandoned on hiway so basicley paid tow fee. 300000 k great shape no dents or rust.First trip to P.G. ran into heavy snow and slush car started running rough,and low idel speed.Opened hood and poked arouned,sensor on air intake caught my attention so I unplugged it and car ran smooth didnt drive car with sensor unplugged because I dont know what sensor is or if will effect the motor.Made it home would like to know what sensor is and if driving it while unplugged will have any adverse effects, Thanks

 

don't know which sensor u r talking about, it may be the MAF sensor??

 

If that's the sensor on the air tube that's right by the air filter box, it's the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

If you were able to unplug it without causing the car to stumble, drop rpms, and likely die, the Sensor could be bad.
