1990 240 DL Electrical Issue
About 2 months ago something seemed off with my car's electrical system. After turning the car off and trying to restart after an hour or so, the radio had reset itself as if the battery was disconnected. The car started fine after that but then other electrical occurrences started.
Examples include:
1) When starting the car, the starter engages and the motor cranks but will not start. After I turn off the key and try again, the interior lights dim and the engine will not turn over. If I wait a while, the car starts just fine.
2) Sometimes the radio (after market) resets itself back to factory settings.
3) Sometimes when I push the door lock button, only the driver's side front door locks. Pushing the door lock again does nothing.
I had the engine mounts replaced a month ago thinking that maybe the vibrations from the engine were causing a short somewhere but that did not fix the issue.
I checked all the fuses and ran OBD but all seems ok. The battery was replaced about a year ago and checks out fine.
Any ideas what would be causing this?
Thanks!
