Hello, today i am picking up my 1990 volvo 240 dl i am getting a very good deal at $500 with only 50k original miles. my friend who i am buying from told me it will either need a battery or an alternator. the car has been sitting without starting for 2 years

anyone know how easy/difficult it is to do the alternator on one of these?

do you guys think i am getting a good deal?

anythiing else i should know before diving into this deal?

Have you actually heard it running? That has a bit of an effect on whether it's a good deal or not.
