Default 1990 240 Dl Wagon

I just bought a 240 Wagon w/ 240000 miles. It doesn't shift out of 2nd till 50 MPH There is a kinked cable on the lower part of the throttle arm that is frozen in the out position, with slack with the engine idling. Could that be part of my shifting problem or is it the relay...Also the rear brake has medal on medal..I am doing a brake job..New rotors and a caliper the drivers side are required...Thanks...Tom

That should be your Kickdown cable. Trace it and see if it goes down to the Trans.

P.S. I moved this to the 240 section.
