Hello! I need help. I have an M47 and the speedo, odometer and shift light don’t work. Just put in a different speedo with new gears. Still nothing. Reconnected frayed wires at sensor. Nothing. I pinched the three wires for the Speedo and reconnected and nothing. Why would the shift light be out too? Help!

 

What year did the different speedo come from?
What worked before the new speedo?

 

My car is an 90 that had a 1986 speedo in it and now I have a used proper 1990 one. Before it went out it, the 86 one would not work and you could slap the dash and it would come on. I pinched the wires and that was not it. Do you know where the wires go from 2 wires at the sender to one wire at the back of the speedo. Is there a junction box type thing?
