1990 240DL Fuel Filter

Tried to change my fuel filter yesterday, but could not get the old one loose. Seems to be welded on. Is there a trick to this??

What part couldn't you get loose?The lines or the filter itself?

I couldn't loosen the nuts on the fuel lines. I've decided to take it to a local mechanic who will have the right tools. Thanks.
