1990 740 CRANKS OVER WONT START BUT HAS FUEL DILVERY (SOLUTION FOUND!)
SOLUTION AT LAST!!!! so i installed a in-line fuel pressure gauge and saw that i was getting enough pressure sooo... i was thinking what else can it be so i thought about the fuel injector relay hmm replaced it and problem solved thanks everyone for your help
if anyone can help iv tried everything replaced battery it was going dead anyway...i know its getting fuel because i disconnected the fuel line from the regulator and it started spilling out fuel while i was cranking it iv replaced the ignition coil, ICM, Plug Wires and plugs i know my timing belt is fine because it spins while cranking the only obvious thing that ihave not check was for spark.... any other clues im missing thanks.... BACKSTORY if it helps......before this issue the car would run for about 10min then shut off and not come on unless the car cooled down then the same thing start it 10min car chokes and dies but now it just will not start
9/20/2008 Update* ok so i finally had time to do a compression test onmy volvo 740 and the results came up consistant reading 190 195 190 190 so i cant have a manifold leak so what else can keep this car from starting?? and how exactly can i check the fuel pressure and from which line do i check it from??? thanks for the help guys =)
9/21/2008 Update*So i went to auto zone and purchased a crank position sensor because the one i removed looked broken but after that the car still wont run so i am totally stumped

RE: 1990 740 CRANKS OVER WONT START BUT HAS FUEL DILVERY
Go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com for free 740 no-start diagnostic guide. You can get fuel because the in-tank pump will pump it out, but if your main fuel pump does not work, your car will not start.
