Default 1990 740 turbo wagon B230ft Plug recommendation

Hi all--

I am getting ready to do a tune up on the wagon (1990 740 turbo wagon B230ft) and am curious if there is a plug recommendation. I have an 96 850 turbo and unless I spring for the Volvo plugs it misfires. Are there similar issues with the 740 turbos. I think I will go Bougicord on the wires -- what about the plugs?

Depends what state of modification your car is in and where you live. If its hotter where you live and your car has been modified slightly then go BPR7ES if its stock and you experience colder temperatures, like below 40. Then I would go BPR6ES. NGK is the way to go. I run BPR8ES but i'm running a little but extra fun under the hood. And Don't bother buying a new distro cap unless the one you have has problems. Also don't buy from IPD they're overpriced.

I'm in Portland, OR. It is about 50 f right now and does not vary much +/- from there. The car is completely stock. I'm looking for a plug that will keep it running smooth. Appreciate the responses.

Wink

Anyone have any experience with those blue wires from IPD?

I like the look but only if it keeps the car running smooth.

Id like to sup this thing up but in actuality my budget is not there and it is my daily driver. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bougicord wires will be just fine, since your stock.

I still run those and I have some mods (chips, exhaust, CAI, 14psi boost...etc.), but nothing extreme.

K&N filters are nice, but expensive. The drop in filters will work, but dont expect to gain the world in performance. The only plus about K&N is they are reusable....
If you are looking for some preformance, then you can just buy a $25 cone filter, which are also reusable, and put it on the MAF....etc.

Speaking of caps, I did plugs (Bosh 7900) wires and cap this afternoon on my new 940. the car was running OK just a little detonation over 70 mph. as you can see the rotor required a little persuasion. BTW where did remnant of the washer like thing in the cap come from? I can't see anything back there.

Why???? Bad experience?

We all Know they have some high prices on some items, but they still have good products....Like swaybars, and shock/ struts are priced pretty well...

The only other place I can think of to get sways, would be from BNE or find them in Sweden. I dont think RSI is making sways yet?

Judging by the oil mist inside that cap, I would hazard a guess at that "washer" being the remains of an o ring or seal.

Regards, Andrew.

90 percent of things they have you can get the exact same thing from FCP Groton for less. Sway bars are the only one thing I would buy from IPD, and I still wouldn't buy from them, I would buy a used set from someone for half the price. I'm running a 242TI I have dual bars in rear and a turbo bar up front with adjustable end links. I'm currently building my own coilover kit with stuff from coleman racing but am running billy hd's with springs from hypercoil.

Alright....

I just got an 82 244 and I got the 28/25mm kit from the TB groupbuy.
It needs a new suspension and I am thinking about the coleman route also.
What parts are you using, so I can get an Idea for my setup???
I assume you will be using KONIs or are you revalving/shortening your HDs?
I am thinking about 12" front springs (300lbs) and 10" rear springs (250lbs)
Maybe go to 325 or 350 in the front and 275 in the rear????
I dont care how stiff the car is.....My goal is a track car for the street...hehe.

Are you doing rear coilovers too?
