As I said, your engine sounds O.K to me, Piston slap is far from uncommon on these engines, especially when cold. They ARE a fairly large bore four cylinder engine after all.
f the valve clearances were set when they did the head, then should be no problems.

Regards, Andrew.

It's a very cool project, efficient and budget minded and worthwhile satisfaction, enjoy! In the interior section, who supplied your "A" pillar gauge pods?

Got some work done on the 740.

It is moving very slow, but is coming out great

Here is a basic breakdown:

Headunit: Alpine CDA9883
Door Speakers: 4x JBL 508GTi
Subwoofers: 4x 8in Revel (same speakers found in the Ultima Salon2)
Amplifier: Harman Kardon CA5250

Here are some teaser pics:

Amp installed:

Size: 57.1 KB

Subs:

Ran 1gauge powercable (phoenix gold breaker near battery and Inline Fuse holder in the rear):

Got most of it hooked up. Still need to run one more RCA cable (Belden), then finish soldering the RCA ends to the lines. Still need to cut holes out of the custom panels I made for the subs to go in the floor where the two cargo doors are. I also have to finish sealing the rear door speakers. Then it is just a matter of hooking up the new remote power switch to head unit, finish the headunit mounting location, and putting the fusable link I made in the Inline Fuse holder for power. Everything is hidden which is pretty cool.

Then the testing begins. Hope fully the ground I choose is quiet, and I wont have to redo anything...

now, if only I could get the car to sit a like it does in the sig pic

That will be a loud system. Did you put some sort of rust protectant where you put those screws in to hold the cable under the car?

For some reason I always think you're in Virginia or some place where they salt roads. Shouldn't be a problem in Cali.

Where did you get the hard ic piping. I wanted to replace the passanger side piping. Both the ic pipe, and the pipe from the air box into the turbo. I just bought the car and the driver side pipe is hard, the other are two soft and spongey. Thanks

I got it from the same guy I bought the interior from. He gave it to me...

it was from the supra motor in the guys 745 which we gutted. I saw it and said: hey, that might fit and it did...

I'm considering options for setting up an amp/sub. Yours looks very good and has given me some ideas. That is a massive amp. I wouldn't be going with as much power or as many subs. Anyway, where will the subs go? Have you installed them yet? Pics?

Thanks,
They will go in the two floor openinges on the side of the middle opening where the amp is.

I have the 1/2" sheets cut to size. I just need to cut the 3/4" sheet and glue the two together. Still need to cut the openings but they will have a custom flush mount grill, so if you look, the two pockets will be slightly taller (~1/2") but you wont see anything....

Maybe pics later today.

Just need to connect the purple wire to the head unit, then attach the bass level adjuster to the dash, then connect that cable... Then the front will be finished
