I stated that I have this problem in my intro thread, but it probably won't get a lot of traffic. Let's be honest, when you have been on BBSs for a while, you start ignoring the "Hello I'm new here" threads and I completely understand. The cigarette lighter isn't working in my 1992 240. I want to be able to run phone/ipod chargers, gps, etc. but can't with this problem. I have checked all of the fuses and cleaned up any corrosion without success. Any ideas? It was suggested in my other thread to run a line right from the battery. Anyone have this setup and can guide me in the right direction? Pictures and part numbers would be great. TIA.

 

Looking at the 92 diagram, power comes from the ignition switch as a yellow wire, to fuse #1. It then leaves fuse 1 as yellow-black and goes to the lighter, rear wiper system (wagon), and radio.

 

Try another lighter plug. Dollars to donuts its that.

Yeah, I am going to have to give that a try. The radio is working without issue.

 

Well, I just got a working male/female off of eBay for $18 shipped. Let's hope that fixes the problem.

 

i hope that works cuz mine does not work ether but neather does the rear wiper.
