So I'm in the middle of removing an old alarm system on the 240 wagon I bought earlier in the month. There were three wires running thru the driver's side door (green and blue from the alarm brick, and another blue from I don't know what). I took the door panel off to investigate, and found two random relays, and a door lock actuator laying int he bottom of the door. Any ideas why this was in there? Trying to put this system back to factory, need to look for the door wiring schematic.
Clipped the wires out, and re-connected the red wire to where it had been disconnected up near the door lock pull. The insulation in just about every wire in there was brittle to the touch. Re-wrapped them all, and things appear to be back to normal. We'll see.
