1992 240 Speakers
Hi All,
I'd like to replace the crappy speakers in my 240 wagon, but notice the front speakers are rather shallow. Can anyone recommend some nice aftermarket speakers that will fit in the factory cutouts up front? Thanks,

a good car stereo shop can fab a spacer that raises the grill a 1/2", this allows larger speakers...
also a lot of speakers have decorative rubber artwork around the magnet, removing this has no effect whatsoever other than letting the speaker fit where it might not otherwise
I believe I found a JL Audio brand speaker that did fit, but I won't vouch for that. We had a 240 sedan, and installed some *good* 6.5" speakers in the rear deck, so the front speakers were so overpowered we left them off most of the time.
