Default 1992 Volvo 240 Speedometer Calibration?

I just recently purchased a 1992 Volvo 240 wagon that has a speedometer issue. While driving at any speed the speedometer shows me going 8-10mph faster than i'm actually going. I am currently using an android app called SpeedView so I know my true speed.

I was wondering if there is a way to recalibrate the speedometer so I can get an acurate speed.

I greatly appreciate anyone who can help.

I usually use my GPS to check my speed. Maybe that is what your Android is doing. Anywho, the best way to deal with it is to install the correct size tires next time you purchase some. Other than that, I have not heard of anyone messing with the speedometer in the dash to correct those types of errors. I have thought of trying it a few times with my cars but simply have not.
