1993 940 tranny issue
I bought this car about a year ago with the same problem in that it would not shift into 4th gear. After posting here you showed me that the wire running under the car to the shifter might be unplugged, and it was problem fixed. Now today out of no where it happened again. Stopped shifting into 4th gear so I looked under the car again for the wire and it was fine. Now what?
some of the other guys/gals in here may have a better sollution to this (like, replace the cable) but whenever that happens to me i just through a little lite weight lube oil on the cabel (at the top) and sorrta work it down to the bottom....works every time. That's how you're supposed to lube the cables on a mountain bike and i figured since it's the same pinciple that controls the kick down that it'd work on the Volvo.
You need to check the soleniod on the Transmission for power. If no power then look at the relay.
If you have power feel for the soleniod to click when the button is activated.
If all works then it is in the Transmission.
