1994 940 motor shuts off above 2000 RPM
My 1994 940 non-turbo has issue with stalling problem.
It stalled on the way work couple weeks ago.
Be able to restart the car but it stalls again when I hit the gas pedal.
Drove it back home with idle only speed.
I thought it has clogged Fuel filter so I replaced it. But it still has same problem.
Idles fine till around 2000 rpm but it cuts off or really shaky and dies above 2000 rpm.
What should I do it next?
Thanks in advance.
It has recent Plugs, Cap and Rotor. Cleaned TB, IAC and PCV.

Got back home late from baseball game tonight.
I checked vacuum leak and sniffed vacuum hose off from FPR it seems like normal.
I did not have symptoms before the TB was cleaned.
While I checked around for vacuum leaks, I found that RPM sensor cable is peeling off right above the bell housing. So jiggled the cable little bit and fired up the motor.
It runs fine. Amaging!
My next question is that RPM sensor makes the car stalls and shaky?
Thanks again.

This problem you've described would most definitely point to a failed or failing crank position sensor....the one in the bell housing. This part will cause the car to stall and perform poorly, and most likely strand you. If it's the original it is way past its intended service life. FCP has them for about $35....Bougicord OEM. Buy one and put it in right away....that's your culprit!
Thanks hovonnogila!
I'm going to order a RPM sensor from FCP.
I post another thread for IAC and ECU problems.
Could you please take a look at that.
Thanks again.
