Default 1994 Volvo 940 signal light & high RPM & antenna

Greetings:

(1)- Can you tell me to troubleshoot a problem with my 1994 Volvo 940 regarding the signal switch? As I turn the signal to go right, the signal flasher blinks normally but as soon as I make the complete turn, the handle switch does not retract back to the normal position and keeps on blinking until I manually turn it back into position. The left signal switch is fine. Is it the signal switch assembly all together or something can be adjusted to correct this?

(2)- During driving and accelerating, I notice the car was making a loud hum from the engine. I realize the RPM was climbing up above the normal range and assume the engine is revving and the automatic transmission gear did not change. It got to 4500 RPM at 45-50 MPH and as I decelerate, the car RPM went down but not at normal 2,000-2500 RPM. I stop the car and check the transmission oil level and it's fine. As soon as I let her drive it the car runs normal. The funny thing is my wife (she drive this 95% of the time) said it acts up once in awhile but stated that I must be 'gentle' in accelerating the car and I must be pushing the gas (accelerating) pedal too fast! Can this be right? I have no problem with my other Volvo (1993 940) car that reacts to this symptoms. The overdrive (OD)light did not come on so I know that's not the problem or cause although I did have issue a few month's ago of having the OD to kick in for no reason whenever it feels like which cause the car not to accelerate and going up in high gear (max.45 MPH @ 3,500 RPM). After troubleshooting this, I was able to resolve the problem by replacing with a new OD relay and the car was running back to normal.

(3)- How do you replace the car antenna? It does not retract fully up position and I try lubricating it and clean it from top to bottom along the mast. I can manually pull it up the be fully extended. As I shut down, it can then only retracts back down.I assume the antenna may be slightly bent but still I was not able to remove the mast after loosening the screw (seal ring) from the side trunk body. Do I need to get into the trunk and somehow access the antennae assembly connected to the motor to replace the mast itself? I brought a new mast (metal piece with a nylon rod inside) but not able to remove the mast from the car. Even if it comes out any special instruction to replace it properly?

Thanks.

Terry
