Unhappy 1995 volvo 940 electrical problems

Hi, on my 1995 volvo 940, the radio antenna does not work for the last couple of days. (since Monday), it is in the retracted position.
About a month ago, the antenna did not work either, but it was in the extended position, the radio did work.
I drove the car to a place where they install radios and the mechanic fixed it.
He told me that he have to reset the antenna.
HE RESET THE ANTENNA AND IT WORKED.
The antenna was going up when the radio was turn on, down when the radio was off.
Today i drove the car to the same place and the mechanic checked the antenna and he said that it was not getting power.
He checked the fuses and one blue fuse was burn.
He replaced IT and the fuse burned right away
he told me that i have a big short.
Then i noticed that the interior light and the clock was not working either.
I am taking the car to an electrician on Saturday morning.
Today i found, in the glove compartment, a "j" relay.
Maybe the previous owner had the same problem!
Does the "j" relay affect the antenna, interior lights and the clock?
I have some extra "j" relays...
Any suggestions?
THANK YOU.
HECTOR.

J is the power windows and seat heater relay ?

looks like the antenna gets its power from fuse 5, which is always hot, that comes directly from the 'positive terminal' under the dashboard. this same green/red power is used for the door open warning light, the left rear interior light, and the trunk light. it goes through the 'instrment panel harness - sill harness' connector C1 at the left A pillar, pin 29. this is a big white block connector with like 53 pins.

Hi pierce!
Do you have picture of this "big white block connector with 53 pins" ?
And its location?

Are all connected? The antenna, the interior lights, clock and trunk lights?
Thank you.
Hector.

i only have the greenbook drawing, which is a rectangular connector, one end has 5x5 rows of pins the other half has 4 rows of 7 pins each. the description suggests its near the left A pillar, under the dash, and its the white one (there's another similar connector near it thats black).

fuse 5 has several green/red wires going to various things, one of these wires goes to that C1 connector pin 29, and there's a bunch of green/red wires off that connector, several go to the interior lighting, another goes to the trunk/cargo light switch, another goes to the antenna power, as i said. it looks like the green/red wire to the clock comes directly off the fuse panel

so, if fuse 5 is blowing, that short could be in ANY of those circuits.

Hi!
Hector here.
The electrician found that the blue relay with the chime was not in place.

i gave him one, he installed it.

Now the blue relay sounds all the time.

Found a short in the interior lights.
The interior lights are defective, disconnected all the wires leading to it.
He reinstalled the relay with the chime.
No more sounds

i will get one interior light assembly from the junk yard or i will order one from galpin volvo.

So now the clock works, antenna, glove compartment light, trunk light, vanity mirror lights.

When i went home, i noticed that i have no relay in the "k" socket.
It was moved to the "j" socket.

Moved the "k" relay to the "k" socket and installed the "j" relay that i found on the seat of the car, on the "j" socket.

The power windows did not work.
And the head lights are always on.
They only go out when i turn the engine off.

I have a day time running lights car, (google).

Back to the "j" relay; i don't have any good "j" relays so i installed another "k" relay on the "j" socket. Everything works now, except the interior lights.

Next step: Freeze plugs.

I think that i bough a lemon.

Thank you for your help.
Hector.

p.s. if you don't want the headlights on, all the time, remove the "k" relay. the head lights will turn on and off with the turn of the ****!

according to my VADIS parts catalog, a 1995 940, relays K and J have different part numbers.

the power windows, seat heater relay "J" is PN 9130269, and has its couple betweeen pins 85 and 86, and is a normally open relay with pin 30 on one side, and pins 87 and 87A on the other side.

the main light relay "K" is PN 1324749, and is has the same pinout but may be a heavier duty relay.
