Default 240 blowing hot air on the cold setting

I have a 92, 240 that I bought when it was cold out last winter, so I've really only had to use the heater until the last few weeks. I've noticed now that when it's switched to the cold setting, it's still blowing hot. Although it's not as hot has the full heat setting, I know it's not as cool as it should be. But, when I click the AC on, it's gets cooler, but when the AC is turned back off, it's back to hot again.

Any ideas? Is this a thermostat replacement issue??

thanks...

It sounds more like a stickycoolant valve ora badly adjusted cable to that valve. This is located on the left side of the AC/heater unit.
