240 A/C Heater blower Motor Replacement
1992 240 Sedan I bought a Haneys service manuel Am finding its not exactly what I have as to the heater blower assembly. I am having problems removing the control unit Not much info from Haynes. Any advice would be greatly apprecaited. Also my assembly has clips on both sides and seems to be double walled. I have seen the chainsaw method This is crazy but I still love my car PS 219K on it and I want 500K Enjoy the day

btw, Haynes service manuals are not that great for any complex procedures. In particular they are not real good at explaining the ultitudes of subtle differences over the long production runs of a volvo 240.
the best stuff is the real volvo service documents, which were printed as a series of 'green books', covering different aspects of these vehicles. the electric wiring greenbook is the definitive wiring diagram, with seperate editions for each year. theres other greenbooks covering the AC systems, engine mechanicals, fuel injection systems, transmissions, etc.
all the 240 greenbooks were scanned and are compiled onto a DVDROM which VCOA sells for $65. this is heavily copy protected, and somewhat annoying to use, but the information is totally worth the hassle.

Thank you I am at a crossroads My 1992 4door seems to have the housing of a 1987 It has the clips around it. I have remove both sides , the front console and the clove box Do I have to remove the dash???? If so it may be time for the chainsaw method Also the car has 217K I love the car but am not a mechanic. It does eat antifreeze which I assume is a head casket I wont goes as far as to replace the head or for that matter the dash kind of scares me Must I pull the dash Thanks
