Default 240 engine mounts.. choices?

I am about to pick up a 92 244 sedan in need of engine mounts. This will be the first 240 I'll own and I read several places about guys running 240 diesel mounts in their cars for the strength factor. I plan on adding a turbo engine and AW71 from my old 940 turbo and I'd like somehting a bit stronger for extra insurance. I don't plan on beating the car, but HD is always better.

Ive seen genuine Volvo standard mounts listed as a left and a right with seperate part numbers... I'll be stopping by the dealer to see about the price of the Volvo diesel mounts, as I'm sure they are tougher and more expensive than the regular ones.

The cheapo parts house std. mounts are one part number for both sides.. and something on the order of 22 or so each. They have a diesel mount as well, same both sides, but like 15 bucks more a side.

So what would you suggest? I think the cheapo standards are probably a bit mushy and rubbery straight out of the box, so they are out of the question..lol

Thanks,
Mike

RSI has poly mounts. I have used them and love them. Hold up pretty well, and are still soft enough for some compliance.
I have an extra poly set for another motor. I think they are RSI stage 3 mounts.
I just bought a set of HD mounts for the new engine, but haven't put them on yet. I got them from IPD.

I would not buy aftermarket rubber engine mounts.

Mounts are something I'd do OEM if I am keeping the car. They last 20 years.

Well found out some interesting things today at my local Advance Auto parts store.. I decided to see if the 240 "diesel" mounts could be had in-store. Online they show the "Beck Arnley" brand and the ultra crappy "Anchor".... I jotted down the Beck part numbers and went in to find the store cant get them, and say they are discontinued, BUT they'd be happy to sell me the "anchor" crud... Fagheddaboudditt!!!

I'm going to my local Volvo dealer to get a real set. Another thing I noticed is a left and right side.. the right being larger.. I also noticed the alignment nubbies are different so I cant run two right sides for strength. Guess I'll just run the original stuff as called for. Perhaps some sort of torque limiting arm could be made.. ideas?

You don't need 2 larger ones.

One of the mounts works mostly in compression hence why it is larger.

I got oem set of deisel mounts from IPD.
They might be cheaper than the dealer.
Idk. Haven't checked.

Edit:

As to the third mount...

Here are a few ideas:

not a 4cylinder, but same idea

The stock mount location is to close together, so a 3rd mount is a good idea for performance and make the stock mounts last longer.

Well, I went to the dealer and picked up a set of stock Volvo mounts for 20 bucks each. I asked about the diesel mounts and found like 26 for one and 47 for the other. I may go that route when the other built 2.3 goes in with the super 20g on it. The stockers will be just fine for now. I will be adding some sort of limiter, thanks for the ideas/pix!

Cheers,
Mike
