We have a 93 940 Regena car with 240k miles on it. This is a great running car that gets used a lot - think soccer mom. It has a pretty dramatic hesitation when first driving till it warms up then its fine. It starts great, idles ok but when we put it in gear and go to drive off it jerks and fusses dramatically till it gets over it and warms up, then its fine. If she sits too long picking up the kids - 10-15 minutes it will do it again some times.

Try disconnecting it and see if the problem disappears or reduces before replacing to confirm.
When was the air filter last replaced?

 

No MAF in a Regina...
I'd check the Coolant Temperature Sensor; make sure the car is well "tuned"... Go from there.
