Default 240 Front Door Speakers

I would like to replace the factory original paper dual cone speakers on the front doors of my 1990 Volvo 240 with more powerful speakers.
I'm ok using the original bracket/covers or replacing them with speakers with new brackets/covers.
Haven't been able to find any thin enough.
Help~~~

It was a number of years ago that I was able to coerce some Boston FX5 5-1/4" two-way speakers into the existing frontdoor set-up. The bolt-pattern was not the same but I was able to line-up three of the holes and screw into the existing bracket. I put a large washer under the fourth screw and pinched the ear of the fourth speaker mounting tab. These speaker protrude from the door a bit further than the stock speakers so I also had to gently re-form the speaker covers to fit - not perfect but looks fairly decent.

I don't see where those particular speakers are available any more. I suggest removing one of your stock speakers and taking to a car audio store and physically compare to what's available to find something as close as possible - then be a resourceful into adapting to fit.
