Unhappy 240 not your usual no start. Help!

Hello Volvo enthusiasts!

I just bought an 86 240 that was not running. The story is the lady who had it (first owner) drove it forever then one day while driving around the car would not start up. She towed it home, and it sat for about a year until the city told her to do something about it. I scoped it up since I thought it could be something simple.

Here is what I have done so far:

-Checked for spark, it is nice and bright and timed right
-Re-soldered main/fuel pump relay (i am not sure if it was necessary, it works now)
-Pulled and cleaned injectors
-Checked to make sure cam timing is correct and the belt is not snapped
-Rented a noid test light set and was able to determine that the ecu is firing the injectors

So at this point i figured it was fuel delivery however if i pull out an injector and jump the fuel pumps, fuel gushes out of the hole. What i did next was to leave all the injectors attached to the rail and put the tips into little cups to see how much fuel comes out when trying to start. Had a friend crank it over and they released almost no fuel, like dribbles.

At this point i figured it was injectors so grabbed new ones from the junkyard and its the same problem.

My friend thinks its a clogged fuel filter but that doesn't explain the fuel still being able to gush out.

Looking for some help or ideas! Trying to get it running by tomorrow.

Thanks

Just a follow up post...

I was able to solve my problem and was going to leave what I learned since I kept finding threads with questions, but no solutions.

I was assuming it was wiring so I was checking all of the grounds and any connections I could visibly inspect. I was about to give up when I read somewhere that the soldered pins on the ICU could go bad. So I unplugged it an fiddled with all of them and one was looser than the rest. Took it apart, tore off most of the protective rubber (which was failing) and saw a very cracked and loose solder joint. I was able to touch it up with a bit of solder, cleaned all the connections, and it started up like new.

You mean ECU/engine controll unit?

LH2.2 and 2.4 systems have two separate controllers, one for fuel injection, and another smaller one for ignition timing. I assumed ICU meant Ignition Control Unit (but I could easily be wrong)
